01 · Water & output
How much water will Spout make in a day?+
Between roughly 0.75 and 2.5 gallons per day, depending on your room's temperature and humidity. Most owners pour one to three pitchers daily. Warm, humid rooms yield the most; cool, dry rooms yield less.
What does the water taste like?+
Clean and alkaline at about 9.0 pH. After harvesting, Spout re-mineralizes the water with calcium, magnesium, and potassium for taste. In our owner survey, 93% rated the taste good or excellent.
Is the water actually safe to drink?+
Yes. Independent lab testing found no PFAS, no microplastics, and no lead. Because the water starts as vapor in the air, your water never travels through municipal pipes, trucks or single-use bottles. See the full lab results →
Does the water grow bacteria or mold?+
It's built to resist that. On its way to your glass, the water passes through multi-stage filtration and a UV-C stage, and a built-in sanitize cycle keeps the tank and lines clean between fills. In independent lab testing, E. coli and total coliform were not detected in the tested samples. Run the sanitize cycle regularly and change the filters on schedule to keep it that way. Will it work where I live?+
Spout runs indoors down to about 10% relative humidity. It works across most of the country, though very dry, cold rooms produce the least. Check your climate on the product page before you reserve.
02 · Noise, heat & power
How loud is it?+
About the level of a quiet dishwasher, a steady hum. You'll hear it in the room, not the next room over. Many owners run it overnight without issue.
Does it heat up the room?+
It vents gently warm air. Opening a window helps keep things cool.
What does it cost to run?+
Roughly 5 to 9 kWh per gallon, plus filters. Your local electricity rate sets the exact figure. Most owners land near $25 to $35 a month, all in, less than most bottled or delivery habits.
03 · Filters & care
How often do I change the filters?+
Two filters, swapped every three months, in under two minutes. A subscription ships them to your door for $99 per six-month box, and the machine reminds you when it's time.
How do I clean it?+
Wipe the tank with mild soap and water, hand wash the pitcher weekly, and run the built-in sanitize cycle monthly. Removable parts are dishwasher-safe on the top rack. Full steps live in the Support center.
Can I leave it off for a while?+
Yes. Empty the tank, run the sanitize cycle, and store it dry. When you return, refill and it's ready. For longer breaks, replace the filters when you start it back up.
04 · Orders, returns & warranty
When will my reservation ship?+
Current reservations ship in September 2026. You'll get email updates as your unit moves through production, and you can cancel any time before it ships for a full refund.
Can I return it if it's not for me?+
Yes, there's a 30-day money-back guarantee from the day it arrives. If it isn't right for your space, contact support and we'll arrange a return. See warranty & returns →
