We’ve been working on Atmospheric Water Generators for almost a decade, fascinated with the potential to create water right where it's needed. We knew if we could make a source of water that reliably produced the highest quality of water possible, we would be making a product people would love.Ultimately, Spout offers the purest form of water from a chemical perspective compared to everything else available for public consumption, given the distillation process and six stages of filtration inside our machine. Because we hold ourselves to a much higher standard, we benchmark our quality against ourselves, far above national standards. We’ve developed our proprietary water filtration technology with a water chemist who has over 50 years of experience to further ensure quality. Quality is paramount for us, and it’s essential to our product as well as our business. We also use a carbon felt air filter to capture VOCs and a MERV 13 air filter to capture particles like smoke, bacteria, viruses (even COVID-19), chemicals, mold spores, allergens, and more.We conduct rigorous third-party water quality tests with National Testing Laboratories, which is one of the largest independent laboratories in the U.S. specializing in the analysis of drinking water for chemical and microbiological contamination.
Step 1
Our hospital-grade air filter purifies the air going into the machine before it is collected on a rotating desiccant wheel. This helps us ensure a higher quality of water, and also purifies the air in your home.
Step 2
Water is absorbed by our desiccant wheel and then heated to release the water vapor into our condensation chamber.
Step 3
Water is condensed by a condenser that is cooled by the ambient, filtered air in your home.
Step 4
Once the water has been condensed, we filter it by harnessing the power of electropositive capture. Cutting-edge filtration technology—inspired by NASA innovations— delivers remarkably effective adsorption across a wide range of particle sizes. We then remineralize the water by adding minerals to increase the alkalinity to ~9 pH and to make it taste even more delightful.
Step 5
Finally, the water fills the Spout pitcher, which has a UV light in the lid, to ensure nothing can grow in the water after it's made. We don't use any chemicals to control growth, ensuring the purest water possible with tried-and-true UV technology. The pitcher is charged when it's inside the machine to keep the water continuously sterilized when the pitcher is outside the unit, perhaps while it's chilling inside your refrigerator.
Where It Works
The Spout machine works in approximately 80% of the world's households. Temperature and humidity are very important to the water production of the machine. As long as the conditions are >20% RH and >70°F, or >40% RH and >40°F, you'll be able to generate your own water. Note, temperature and humidity vary throughout the year, so production will fluctuate with the corresponding changes to conditions. Also, higher altitudes may negatively impact production.
